OSI Group Continues To Perfect Its Business Model By Offering More To Its European Customers

In 2016, OSI Group purchased Flagship Europe from the Flagship Food Group. OSI renamed the company Creative Foods Europe later on and now has access to a wider market in the United Kingdom. Creative Foods Europe offers its customers a variety of food products including sauces and dressings, mayonnaise, frozen poultry, pies, and sous vide products. David McDonald, chief operating officer and president of OSI, commented on the acquisition saying that it would help to expand the company’s presence in Europe. Russell Maddock, the chief executive of Creative Foods Europe, also praised the move and is optimistic about the future of his company.

OSI Group also purchased a controlling stake in Baho Food recently, which is a company that manufactures deli meats, convenience foods, and snacks for a European customer base. McDonald also commented on this acquisition by pointing out that it would help to make OSI more visible in Europe. Baho Food has processing facilities in Germany and the Netherlands and owns a spread of subsidiaries that include Q Smart Life, Vital Convenience, and Henri van de Bilt. John Balvers, the managing director of Baho Food, will be staying on with the company as will his management team.

OSI Group was founded in 1909 by a German immigrant who made all of the right moves in order to grow his company. OSI began with one location in the west side of Chicago but quickly expanded by building another facility in the “windy city.” The company is now headquartered in Aurora, Illinois and employs 20,000 people who work in its facilities and plants all over the world.
