It was recently announced that Heather Russell will be adding her talents to the team at TransUnion. She comes to them with much experience and many accomplishments in her field. Her new position will be Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. She will be replacing John Blenke, who plans to retire later in the year.


Heather Russell comes to TransUnion with legal, financial, and regulatory expertise. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of William and Mary. Her Doctorate was earned at The Washington College of Law, an American University.

Moving Forward

In a recent article, TransUnion stated how excited they were for her to join their company. Jim Peck is President of the company and complimented her skillset. He stated his belief that Heather Russell will bring TransUnion great leadership and that growth will result. Heather replied by stating her excitement in bringing her experience to the leader of information solutions. Heather Russell has worked with many major companies. She most recently worked as Partner at the law firm of Buckley Sandler, LLP. Before that, she served as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary for Fifth Third Bank. She has other financial experience with the Bank of New York Mellon as Managing Director and Head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs. She was Associate General Counsel at Bank of America as well. After college, she spent eight years in Washington D.C. at Skadden, Arps. There she learned much about the industries she would soon serve.
